At a time when the quartz revolution was taking place these watches with automatic Cal. 1020 series movements carried on both the style and mechanical functionality of a traditional Seamaster.
Cosmic 2000 watches were large for the era, measuring 38mm in diameter. They fit in well with today's larger look.
This is an early double quick-setting day date example. Omega created the 1020 series movement with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Although the idea of the double quick-set watch is most associated with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega's 1020 series mechanisms were a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches.
But what stands out most about this example is how it presents - it has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It is fully Omega and on the wrist it presents nearly like new. The photos don't do it justice.
Its uniquely constructed case, with movement holder, is mint. Its royal blue dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done.
As part of the restoration a Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch (a $495 value). It winds very smoothly and is keeping time on par with a new Omega in our testing position.
